The Software Literacy Foundation is a not for profit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to educating and inspiring young people to pursue a career in software development.

Success in today's workforce is influenced by education and the ability to apply useful knowledge to the solution of societally relevant problems. Computer literacy, or the lack thereof, can disqualify a young person from job opportunies with a significant and often intimidating barrier known as the digital divide. The Software Literacy Foundation aims to inspire and enable young people to ascend these boundaries through diligent study culminating with the motivation to pursue a career in software development.

Software Engineering is consistently rated as the best occupation by Career Cast, and is one of the few jobs that has seen growth in both hiring and salaries continue into 2016.  Demand for software developers among some of the best companies in the world continues to provide great opportunities.

"Software engineering is one of the fastest growing fields in the world today" -- Ben Amaba, IBM Complex Systems.
